Plenary sessions
There will be plenary sessions. We’ve gathered experts from all over the world from different perspectives to look into the world of healthcare clowning and share their inspiring experiences with you.
During HCIM we will learn and experience more about the relevance of art and play, in particular healthcare clowning, for us humans, but especially for those in a vulnerable situations due to illness, disability or social disadvantage.
“One of the themes that has occurred in healthcare clowning that I found very interesting was ‘meeting people where they are. No matter where they are, emotionally’. You don’t play happy music just to try to make somebody happy: that could be infuriating and can have the opposite effect. You have to begin by acknowledging and validating what they’re actually feeling.”
- Christopher Bailey, Lead of Arts & Health at the World Health Organization, Keynote Speaker HCIM
Besides exciting presentations, sharing our best practices, HCIM offers plenty of opportunities to develop our skills and methods in the areas of connecting, communication, healthcare clowning, alignment, research and fundraising. There is plenty for everyone to be inspired and gain game-changing ideas for doing even more for people in vulnerable situations.
