Meet the plenary panelists at HCIM: Sietske Sikkes
As a researcher in the field of dementia, Sietske Sikkes can provide science-based insights. She is an associate professor in clinical neuropsychology of aging at the VU University, and work as a researcher at the Alzheimer Center Amsterdam. |
'I study the early signs of dementia, the early memory and language changes for example, and how we can capture these early signs. Moreover, I study non-pharmacological interventions for people with early dementia, and also how we can use lifestyle changes in the prevention of dementia. One of my research interests is music as a non-pharmacological intervention, and here I see a clear link with healthcare clowning.'
I do hope to bring some recent scientific insights into dementia, and non-pharmacological interventions.'
Sietske will be one of the plenary panelists at HCIM. You can find more info about the other plenary panelists here.
