Laura van Dolron

Meet the keynote speakers of HCIM: Laura van Dolron

Theatre maker Laura van Dolron has created her own genre: stand-up philosophy. Together with the audience, she seeks the beautiful and searches for how to improve the self and the world around us.

Laura uses theatre as a place where she can be sincere because there is enough play pretend in the real world already. Laura brings people comfort, but also confronts her audience through her words. She wants to make them laugh and think at the same time and she shows how vulnerability can be a necessity in this world.

'Seeks for connections, disruption, emotion and vulnerability'

In recent years Laura has gone into the world as an action writer, to create live columns on the spot, unprepared and without pre-mediation, straight from her heart. During debates, symposia, festivals or church celebrations, she seeks for connections, disruption, emotion and vulnerability. In the immediacy of the moment she writes a humorous, poetic or fragile piece, which she reads to the audience at the end of the gathering.

Currently Laura is touring through the Netherlands with her new performance 'Geen verhaal' ('No story'). For information and dates, check www.lauravandolron.com.

'Believe in healthcare clowning'
Laura believes in the healing power of performance and play through stand-up philosophy. She shares this healing power with healthcare clowns, who heal through their play as well.

Laura will end the gathering with a theatrical, poetic, and philosophical view on the day. Hopefully, Laura and the clowns can learn from each other’s way of theatrical healing.

Laura will be one of the keynote speakers at HCIM, you can find more info about the other keynote speakers here.
