Julian Stodd

Meet the plenary panelists at HCIM: Julian Stodd
Picture
Julian Stodd, researcher, author and founder of Sea Learning

Exploring the context of Social Age is the area in which Julian Stodd operates. As a researcher, as an author, as well as the founder of Sea Salt Learning, always keeping his curiosity. He is a research-based practitioner, constantly evolving his work to find out how systems change through social movement.

Sea Salt Learning is a global consultancy agency, which explores the context of the Social Age: a time when we are radically connected, through multiple democratised technologies. Within that context, at the intersection of formal and social systems, he explores what this means for leadership, learning, culture, and organisational design.

“I want to keep bringing my curiosity, to be able to rapidly evolve my thinking and ideas on the Social Age we’re in.”

Compassion and hope
The acts of kindness and trust within systems of healthcare clowning connect with his global research project on ‘The Landscape of Trust’. He explored how social currencies such as kindness, fairness, and pride flow through systems. His work is widely adopted in healthcare contexts around the world, where people seek to operate within large, complex structures, but to do so with compassion and hope.

On-going evolution of work
His work is evidence based, but also grounded in practical application: what can we do about it? His methodology of #WorkingOutLoud in practice, means he shares the on-going evolution of his work, not simply the final outputs. This allows him to rapidly evolve his thinking and ideas.

At HCIM Julian will bring his curiosity and willingness to both learn and share. Learn more about healthcare clowning, and weave the connections to his own practice.

Julian will be one of the closing plenary panelists, More information about the other plenary panelists and keynote speakers can be found here.
